I like this place because the bartender, Judy, is awesome. She's always happy and smiling. When I go to a bar (where they also serve good food that is freshly prepared, I have noticed) I want servers to be upbeat. She is always upbeat. She handles the whole place on her own a lot, too. We go there a couple of times a month because it's close to the house, it's easy to get to and it is usually the right experience.

The food is good. I looked at some of the old, outdated reviews about the food and I guess things have changed, because there are always new items on the menu and they are freshly prepared. I guess some of the foods they use may be frozen, but gee... it's not the fashion dining experience here. It's just good food and well-made drinks served by friendly people.

Sometimes there is live music. A lot of times there's none, which is fine by me. Sometimes it's packed and sometimes it's very intimate and peaceful. I can float with either when the service is spot on, which is always is when Judy is at the helm. There was another bartender once or twice, a guy who was more interested in himself then in his customers, but I haven't seen him in a while. I think maybe he's gone. Good call on that one, Holiday Inn. But don't let Judy go. She's a good employee and a benefit to your establishment. She knows our names and our drinks! That's a good bartender.

The Service here is bad and slow. Do not buy a Groupon, they will not let you use it. The place only had one table and still they werent attentive!! I should have known better than to go to a Restaurant at an Inn

    Edited review

It was obviously not your intention to do the best of services there. You did not take my order some other lady did nor did you come by to bring us our food. You checked up on us very early on and after that even though you knew exactly what was going on because the waitress went to ask you, you just said no separate checks. And didnt even come out to help. Never have I seen a restaurant say no to separate checks. We paid out-of-pocket there and now we're stuck with a Groupon when we aren't ever going to go back to your establishment.
We never asked you to combine anything we just wanted separate checks simple as that. I rarely write a bad review but you guys deserve this one. And please stop deleting my review.

Like many others, I picked up a Groupon for this place after reading the reviews. For months I couldn't get myself over there to use it, just thinking of the whole hotel lobby thing. My instincts were spot on, as I just went for breakfast a few days ago, and used the original paid value of my expired Groupon.

On the surface all seemed okay. On my way in I had to sidestep to avoid a woman dragging a suitcase on her way out. It was a hotel lobby after all, so not unexpected. The tables were about half full with obvious travelers, and the restaurant, front right in the lobby, was nicely appointed and clean. We picked a small table and the server was there quickly, all smiles. She was actually very attentive and friendly. We ordered our dishes and coffees, and she brought out two cups and a stainless pot. The creamers were of the artificial variety, with a few different flavors.

Corned beef hash: This is one of my go-to breakfasts, as I love hash. It came out with a plentiful portion of crispy perfect looking hash, two big over easy eggs, a pile of hash browns, and four half slices of sourdough toast. It was a big plate! My first bite of the hash signaled a tasty hash, with perhaps a bit too much salt. Subsequent bites and I had to push it aside. Way too salty, even for hash, which is salty anyway.  The eggs were interesting. One of them was a nice over easy, and the other, attached egg, was over hard. How do you do that? I pointed it out to the server, and asked for one replacement egg. She brought two, and they were perfect. The hash browns were okay, but could have been a bit crispier on the outside. Overall a decent breakfast, but just that. If you don't have a Groupon, you will think it likely overpriced.

Omelet: My wife did one of their build-your-own omelets, thinking you can't really mess up an omelet. It was a big three egg dish with plenty of ingredients. It came with potatoes and toast. The omelet was the type where they cook the eggs into a thick fluffy thing on its own, add the fillings, and fold it over. So, it was kind of like scrambled eggs folded over other stuff. Not bad, but not really very tasty either. It tasted, well, like hotel lobby food.

Aqua Restaurant and Lounge seems pretty nice for a Holiday Inn restaurant, but in the end the food is just basic, uninspired, and average.  I wouldn't go back, even with a new Groupon.

Came here just to grab a drink, ended up staying for the live music, homemade pot stickers and homemade meatloaf! We will definitely be back!
